South Coast WoodWorks Gallery

WoodWorks provides a dynamic focal point for fine woodworkers of the region. It is a meeting place of ideas and innovative processes, as well as a place of discovery and learning for visitors.

The gallery represents over 30 fine woodworkers from Denmark and Albany and as far afield as Walpole and Bremer Bay. Our fellow woodworkers frequently work collaboratively as a supportive network of passionate individuals to share insights, critique, and to develop new products.

First established in 1995 as Dean Malcolm’s Woodturning Studio. Building of the new gallery commenced in December 2000 and it first opened its doors in June 2001. The purpose built Gallery was designed over a two year period.

In total the gallery has over 250 square metres of display area.

Special features of the design include three distinct display areas: a large gallery space for furniture and large articles of fine woodwork, an intimate space for small gifts, kitchenware and souvenirs, and an upstairs mezzanine gallery suitable for exhibitions. A landscaped courtyard is available for visitors to relax and enjoy their own picnic lunches.

Woodworks has a vast range of work on display in a range of prices from $5 to $5000, from small gifts and souvenirs to large furniture articles, sculpture and artworks.

A few of the products in the ever-changing display include: dining suites, chairs, tables, coffee tables, hall tables, mirrors, wine cabinets & racks, turned bowls, carved bowls, burl bowls, jewelry boxes, turned boxes, pens, paper knives, business card holders, clocks, desk clocks, anniversary clocks, travel clocks, jewelry, needle cases, bread boards, rolling pins, cheese knives, bread knives, mortar and pestles, salad servers, salad tongs, spoons, salt and pepper grinders, place mats, lemon squeezers, lazy susans, kaleidoscopes, games, puzzles, vases, pincushions, sticky tape dispensers, sushi sets, paintings, sculptures…and more!
